Standards for Educational and Psychological Testing: The Issue of Testing Bias from the Perspective of School Psychology and Psychometrics

This article examines the various ways in which the problem of testing bias in the context of some contemporary educa tional, legal, and societal developments can and cannot be addressed by developments in test standards. It reiterates the contention that school psychologists should utilize differ ential assessment strategies in formulating decisions regard ing school age Black children.
